WEST INDIES MIDDLE order batsman Wavell Hinds yesterday said the regional team is in good spirits ahead of tomorrow's final Test match against Pakistan at Sabina Park in Kingston.
Hinds, an opener for Jamaica, said workouts have gone well although there are "a few little niggles here and there".
"I think the selectors will sit and select the best 11," Hinds told journalists at the team's training session at Kensington Park yesterday.
Christopher Gayle, who had a family emergency, missed the almost three-hour session supervised by coach Bennett King.
Hinds, who was vice captain for the West Indies 2002 tour to Bangladesh, said the players are ready to notch a two-Test series win.
"I think what we strive on each time is to make sure we stick to the basics, stick to the fundamental, try and get the momentum as early as possible and ride it throughout the game," he said.
"We did that in Barbados (first Test) but for the four games against South Africa, we didn't do that very well," he added.
Captain Inzaman-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik, two of the visitors' top players are back from suspensions and should feature prominently in their team's drive for victory.
Hinds admitted the West Indies will have to step up their game with ul-Haq back in the team.
"Pakistan will have their captain back, who is a very good player and we respect that, but at the same time I think simple, basic cricket, playing positive, effectively and execute as efficiently as possible, should do the job."
