Man on buggery charge to return to court

BERT WILLIAMS, THE Christian man charged with buggery, is expected to return to court on July 12 when his preliminary enquiry will continue.

Williams is charged with the buggery of five boys over a four year period.

Williams, a messenger, was remanded in custody when he last appeared in court. He was arrested late last year after he was accused of molesting five boys aged nine to 17 years between August 2000 and 2004.

Williams is said to have lured the boys to his home to tell them about the love of God when the incidents allegedly took place.

According to the allegations read out in court, Williams reportedly went to the homes of the complainants' parents and told them he was a Christian and that he wanted to tell them about God.

It is reported that Williams often took the boys to church with him and, during the summer, invited them over to his house for holidays as well as to tell them about God.

It is reported that during the summer visits, the boys were molested. It was also revealed that Williams was married for eight months prior to his arrest and was yet to consummate his marriage.
