ABOUT 20 PERSONS, most of whom were students, were rushed to hospital yesterday after they were injuried when the coaster bus in which they were travelling crashed into a garbage truck along Washington Boulevard.
Police reports are that at about 3:15 p.m. the 1997 blue coaster bus registered PB 6653 was travelling from Half Way Tree towards Spanish Town. On reaching the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Headley Avenue the bus attempted to beat a traffic light and crashed into a 1997 Blue International Truck owned by the Metropolitan Parks and Markets (MPM).
The impact of the crash caused the bus to overturn injuring several of the occupants. The injured were taken to the hospital where six of them were admitted. The police say some of the passengers suffered broken legs, cuts to the face and head injuries.
The Duhaney Park Police are investigating.
