Man remanded for forged visa

WESTERN BUREAU

A KINGSTON MAN who admitted to uttering a forged United States visa in a passport that was also tampered with was remanded in police custody until May 31 in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Orlando Isaacs, 26, of Vineyard Town, Kingston 3, pleaded guilty to uttering a forged document with intent to deceive and a probation report was ordered to be prepared before he returns to court on May 31.

Isaacs was arrested at the Sangster International Airport on May 18 when he tendered the passport and immigration documents for an Air Jamaica flight to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

The passport was scanned but the information did not correspond with the computer read out, the court was told, and when inspected,0 it was found out that the issue and expiry dates had been tampered with. It was also found out that the passport was fraudulent.
