New Kidz has gone into production - file
BARELY A YEAR after leaving the Q-45 Record Label, deejay New Kidz has slipped on the producer's hat and gone into production.
The deejay, known for tracks such as Hotta Set Of Gal, Roll Out and Hustler, has formed his 'Regulator Records' label and has finished working on his first project, the 'Moving' rhythm, which is a re-make of the rhythm on which Ken Boothe did More Everyday.
On New Kidz's project, he has lured several big names to record tracks, many of which have been getting steady rotation on the air.
Among the persons to record on the tracks are Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, Tony Curtis and his former label mate Egg Nogg.
"It was not a thing weh mi just jump up and do. I was always thinking bout it, and mi have the space and time so mi do it," he explained to THE STAR.
"Mi do it, and rotated it among my friends and the response good, so mi do a whole set of tune," he continued.
The plan, New Kidz says, is to launch all out with his production but still steadily do his own recording.
"To be honest, I am a musical youth, and this was wha mi fi do long time, but mi haffi focus on my career as well. I will always keep the label alive but mi have fi focus on my career too," he said.
"Mi just need people fi keep focused on New Kidz. People waa know wha mi up to. I am up to what they are up to right now. They are listening so mi have things fi give them."
