PRODUCER WINSTON 'NINEY' Holness has chosen his first act to record based on his talent search quest.
Earlier this year, THE STAR reported that the renowned producer, who produced the likes of Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Delroy Wilson, Baby Wayne, Horace Andy among others, would be hosting talent searches for fresh artistes to record.
"I-Jah is the first youth we see who sound like he can tek this thing to another level," he stated recently.
"Him remind me of a young Dennis Brown and him humble, so we decided to do some work with him."
The plan, he noted, was to use authentic live rhythms to record the young singer on his Observer Label, then take him overseas to introduce to European markets.
Also in his plan is to groom the artistes he choos and educate them about their publishing rights in the music business.
"We need them to secure their pension and get educated bout the business, cause certain producer no teach dem that and dem probably vex when I teach these youths their rights, but they must learn. That's the way to go with real talent," he added.
"When we find who can sing good, yu groom them fi the world markets, cause music don't stop in Jamaica."
