Afraid to return to Jamaica

Dear Pastor,

Keep up the good work you're doing. I read the letter written to you in THE STAR entitled, 'Jamaicans are Ignorant'. I am a Jamaican living abroad for 28 years, and my desire is to return home one day as well. But, of late I have changed my mind. Bogle's death really hit home. I can't understand why someone could take someone's life over a mere argument. It is unbelievable.

I met Bogle a few years ago in New York City, and I really enjoyed the conversation we had. He told me how much he loved Jamaica, and his dreams of returning home for good.

As it turned out, he did return home, which cost him his life. And, to make matters worse, the killer(s) got away. My God, what's going on with our tiny island?

Dear God, please help us. Guide and protect our country.

P.C., Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Dear P.C.,

Life is precious but some people don't seem to believe that. They are intolerant and their strength is the knife or the gun. Most people regret Bogle's death. May his killers be brought to justice.

Pastor.
