SHANE HANNIFORD, THE KFC worker accused of throwing hot oil on a customer, pleaded guilty to the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's court on Tuesday.
The supervisor, therefore, who should have given testimony, did not because of the now guilty plea.
Resident Magistrate Martin Gayle, however, had one question to ask the supervisor:
"What temperature is the oil heated at?"
"360 degrees," she said.
It is alleged that on March 8 at 11:45 p.m., following an argument at the KFC outlet in Manor Park, the accused used the pot of hot oil to douse the complainant, Kwame Phidd, resulting in serious burns to the back and face.
Hanniford is to be sentenced on June 7, and is remanded in custody until then.
