Dropping a bombshell

Dear Pastor,

I found out yesterday that I am HIV-positive. I don't know what to do and how to go about it. My partner does not know that I am positive. I did not get it from my steady partner because he alone can't satisfy me. I seriously need your help.

Can you please tell me what to do?

B.,

Kingston, Jamaica

Dear B.,

Kindly ask your doctor to advise you where you can get treatment. I am talking about how to get the drugs that you would need. I am sure that he or she will do his or her best to guide you. I am also certain that you were advised that if you are determined to have sex, you should use the condom.

Mark you, I am not here encouraging you to have sex. I am trying to say that you should not do anything to spread the virus.

May I also suggest that you inform your regular sex partner about your condition. I am sorry that because you believe that he could not satisfy you, you had unprotected sex with others. I hope and pray that God will give you peace of mind. Put your hands in the hands of God. Go to church and read your Bible.

Pastor.
