Luton Shelton - File
HARBOUR VIEW STRIKER Luton Shelton scored in the 14th minute last night, giving the Reggae Boyz a one-nil win over Guatemala in an international friendly played in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Boyz kept their unbeaten streak against the Central Americans intact, playing tight defence after their opening goal.
The Guatemalans came close to pulling a goal back in the final three minutes when a Guatemalan attacker booted over the bar from inside the area.
Jamaica Football Federation president Crenston Boxhill said it was an excellent result and good preparation ahead of the Gold Cup.
Boxhill also said the Boyz could play three other games before taking part in the CONCACAF Gold Cup this summer in the United States.
Waterhouse captain Desmond Breakenridge played the full 90 minutes on his debut for Jamaica whereas Adrian Reid and Lovell Palmer, also debutants, came on as substitutes.
