Learn to handle your problems

Dear Pastor,

For years people have been writing to you for answers to some of the silliest questions ­ things that you think any smart and sane person would know the answer to.

If they read some of your answers they would know that they shouldn't even bother to write. Questions like, "My man is seeing another woman, but I would do anything to keep him. Should I?" That is totally insane.

Dear A. P,

You must be careful not to insult people. What you consider to be simple or silly, may not be so to the writers.

In fact, I am putting it to you that when a person is having problems, he/she may not be able to think clearly and this is true of people who are educated and uneducated.

Change your attitude towards people and learn to empathise with people's problems. If you feel that you are very smart and these people who are writing are silly, keep that opinion to yourself.

There are so many self-righteous people around the place. They remind me of the Pharisees. Jesus had strong words for the Pharisees, but he was merciful to the Publican who said, "Lord, be merciful to me, a sinner."

I have been pleased to answer the questions you may consider silly and I trust God will continue to give me the strength and wisdom to do so.
