THE STAR has learnt that Norman 'Snypa X' Johnson opted out of the trio, and has gone solo with his deejaying career.
The split, as reported, was not pleasant, because the streets became flooded recently with some heated tunes by Snypa X and lyrics directed against the remaining two. The duo has since released some equally harsh lyrics directed back at him. Though these tracks are not mainstream, they seem to be slowly gaining popularity in the streets.
Serious differences
According to reports, the unpleasant split occurred because the trio had serious differences with their music. They reportedly stopped agreeing on anything related to the music they were doing and a frustrated Snypa X left.
"We had a whole heap of differences about the music and the recordings, so he just left," stated Renegade X, one third of the former trio.
"We had a whole heap of things we couldn't agree on and right now the group is just without him."
In the past, the trio of Norman 'Snypa X' Johnson, Andre 'Delomar X' Bedward and Carlton 'Renegade X' Williams was hardly seen without the other. They made their names as performers with tracks like Boom Boom on the 'Tunda Clap' rhythm Don't Trust You, and Phenomenal.
As producers, they did work on the 'Summer Bounce', 'Azteca', and 'Chrome' rhythms, and on Bling Dawg's Roll Out.
In giving his side, Snypa X stated that the level of respect he got in the group diminished, and he was not treated as an equal.
Friendship mash up
"People need to deal with others with respect, and mi never a get that," he contended. "It was not about the crew anymore, it was about one man or two. The friendship just mash up because a that and mi cut."
When pressed, none of the three was willing to agree on plans about future reconciliation. In fact, they have already forged ahead with their careers in different directions.
Snypa X has sided with Shocking Vibes for management duties and has recorded tracks with Tanto Metro, Beenie Man, and others.
Renegade and Delomar under the Xsytment name have recorded Friday, Chuck Off, among others and shot a music video for their Xsytment Medley.
They are now associated with the Urban Geurillaz camp.
"Snypa a go just work harder now, just more music for the people," the deejay said about future plans.
The new look Xsytment also gave a similar story. According to Renegade; "Probably everything will work out for the better right now, because we were out of the limelight for a while and through that we were able to sort out our differences ... You will just see a new brand of Xsytment now.
