Hondurans ordered deported

By RASBERT TURNER, STAR Writer
spanish town:

FOUR HONDURANS, WHO were allegedly smuggled in the island by fishermen, appeared in the Spanish Town RM Court yesterday charged with illegal entry.

The court learnt that Eli Perez, 34, Carlos Bonett, 30, Menti McKenzie, 30, Solongie Dixon, 25, all labourers, were taken into the island in Old Harbour Bay, St. Catherine, in November last year.

Locked up in house

According to Immigration Officer, Corporal Cecil White of the Spanish Town police, McKenzie and Dixon, both females, were taken to a location in Black River where they were said to have been locked up in a house.

They, however, made their escape and returned to Old Harbour Bay where someone connected to the fishing boat that took them to Jamaica made contact with the police on Tuesday, February 15. They were taken into custody after an interview with the police.

When they appeared in court they pleaded guilty. The RM ordered them to be deported. She pointed out that there is a procedure that one should follow when they consider taking up residence in another country. The four will be deported later this week.
