I-Wayne well-rested after exhaustion scare
By GERMAINE SMITH, Staff Reporter
SINGER I-WAYNE has recharged his batteries after a short period of rest, and is back on the 'Lava Ground'.
The conscious crooner, who is represented by the Loyal Soldier outfit, gave reggae fans a scare three weeks ago when he became ill. The singer was unable to perform anywhere because of exhaustion.
The worries of his management team and family were somewhat eased shortly after, however, when the doctors told them he was severely dehydrated and only needed rest.
Rural retreat
The singer immediately retreated to rural Jamaica for close to two weeks but is now returning to music. He and his manager Patrick 'Father Z' Henry were unavailable for comment yesterday as they were off the island, but Corey 'Tenor Cat' Williamson, another Loyal Soldier representative, said I-Wayne was fine now.
"He is doing good right ya now, in fact, he just did a show on the weekend in the U.S.," he stated.
"He rested for the two weeks and him all right now. He was seriously dehydrated but he is hydrated now enough to work again."
Rasta diet
I-Wayne's dilemma, he pointed out, was caused by the singer's commitment to his Rastafarian diet, plus the hectic pace his life has taken on since scoring with so many hits locally. "Running from event to event, and recording so much finally took its toll," he noted.
"Yu find that he was so busy from in the holidays, and he does not eat every and anything," Williamson added. "He would almost starve himself than eat anything, because he is strict with his religion, so it affected him."
Since following doctor's orders the singer has secured show dates in the United States and is scheduled for a few local gigs next week.
