POLICE HAVE IDENTIFIED the son of a veteran reggae singer as the man who shot dancer Gerald 'Bogle' Levy 14 times and have launched a manhunt for him, THE STAR understands.
The man, who police say is also a close associate of a top Jamaican entertainer, has been named as the main suspect in the killing, but police believe he has gone into hiding as efforts to catch him have proven futile.
Police have so far questioned the top entertainer, but say it is unlikely that charges will be laid against him.
The main suspect is currently before the court on a murder charge for the killing of a Jamaica national football player two years ago. He is on bail, but reports say he has not been reporting to the police and has even missed his court date recently.
He is the second suspect to be named by the police.
First suspect
The first suspect was held in St. Andrew South Police area and two bikes believed to have been used in the killing seized. He is also an associate of the top entertainer and a friend of the main suspect. He should face an ID parade this weekend.
Homicide investigations have theorised that both men rode the bikes to the service station where the dancer and some friends were. The dancer/singer was shot five times in the side of his face, seven times in the back of his head, once in the chest and once in the hip. The other four persons with him all received head shots as well.
