MOST VALUABLE CARIB-BEAN player, Daney Wilson, tops the all-star nomination with 29 votes for the Jamaica Volleyball Association's first all-star weekend tomorrow at the UWI Bowl.
Wilson, who was MVP in the 2004 Caribbean championships, where Jamaica placed second in both male and female categories, will have Mark Lewis (28 votes); Errol Smith and Dellan Brown (26 votes each) all from Vikings along with Patrico Grant (Inverness); Tafari Samuels (Vikings) and Gatasheu Bonner (JDF). Head coach for Zone A team will be Rose Marie Noble to be assisted by Garnett Williams.
Their opponents will be Andre McLean, Delford Morgan, Marlon Williams (UWI); Ricardo Chong, Namarie Gordon and former national player Owen Leslie (Venus); head coach - Roy Taylor, assistant coach - Oneil Ebanks.

In the female category, national setter, Kamille Dwyer tops the votes with 21 followed by Cheryl Daley with 17. They will have Shanique Green and Cherine Richards all of UWI along with Neisha Salmon, Nardrake Hutchinson and Tanya Distant of MOSA. Head coach for
Team B is led by Najwa Pagon (Venus) and Claudia Miller (Viqueens) with 13 votes, and they will be supported by Natalie Carty, Tracyann Pryce, Ptamony Fletcher (Venus); Keisha Miller and Romaine McNeill (Viqueens). Ortnel Findlay will be the head coach.
The skills competition gets underway at 10:00 a.m. and the all-star female game at 1:30 p.m., followed by the male game.
On Sunday, the mid-season final featuring Viqueens and UWI in the female division, and UWI and Vikings in the male category will begin at noon and 2:00 p.m. respectively, also at the UWI Bowl.
