POLICE IN PORTLAND arrested a friend of exotic dancer, Donnette Wilson, 27, whose body was found at Drapers district, on January 2 with her throat slashed.
The man is being held as a reasonable suspect at the Port Antonio lock-up, but is not charged.
Detective Sergeant Derrick Hart of the Port Antonio CIB, said the man was taken into custody as evidence suggests that he may have been involved in the murder. "Intelligence gathered have indicated that the suspect may have committed the murder," said Mr. Hart. "The suspect is said to be of a violent nature and is known to have abused the deceased on numerous occasions, and have also endangered her life."
Hart said forensic findings have indicated that the woman was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the location it was found.
The dead woman was discovered by a property supervisor, from a nearby estate, who was making his usual round. The body was also found with the hands and feet bound. The woman was clad in jeans pants, brown shirt and sneakers.
The woman was first reported missing to the Old Harbour police on December 29, 2004 by her mother, after she failed to return home having indicated to her mother in a telephone conversation, that day, that she was awaiting to be picked up by her boyfriend at Three Miles in Kingston. The dead woman is from Barbican, St. Andrew.
