Doctor confirms 92-y-o deceased had been raped

By GARETH DAVIS, STAR Writer
portland

MEDICAL DOCTOR, ROBERT Taylor, has confirmed that a 92 year old woman, Maud King, of Chatsworth in Portland, whose body was found on January 11 had been raped.

Mr. Taylor, who spoke to THE STAR on Tuesday, stated that the vagina of the deceased-woman was bleeding and showed signs of bruising.

"I have concluded based on my findings that the elderly woman was raped," said Mr. Taylor. "In my own professional capacity, no one could have scratched themselves and left that level of damage in the pubic area."

Strangled

The doctor noted that blood in the mouth of the deceased would suggest that she may have also being strangled. He noted also that since conducting a more intense examination on the body, the cause of death should now be changed from sudden death as indicated earlier by the police.

Miss Maud's body was found by a care-giver on the morning of January 11, who had gone to take breakfast to her. The elderly woman at the time of her death lived alone in a one bedroom house, and was also visually impaired.

An investigation carried out by the police indicated that there was no evidence of forced entry to the house and that the bedroom showed no signs of being disturbed. The woman was last seen on the evening before her death by the caregiver, who had taken her dinner to her at about 4:30 p.m.
