Where is our mommy?

Cynthia Francis who has been missing for four months. - Contributed

MARANDA HALL AND her sisters are still waiting on their mother Cynthia Francis to come home after she left home to visit friends four months ago.

Francis, who is from Spanish Town in St. Catherine, has been missing since May 12, when family members said she went to a friend in Red Pond, Spanish Town. "She told us she was going to Red Pond but she wasn't going for long because my sister was coming to visit her," said Maranda. "At first we didn't say anything because she once left home and returned after two days later. But, this time she has been gone for the past four-and-half months and we are worried."

No visit

What has worried the family even more is after making checks with the persons whom Francis was supposed to visit in Red Pond it was found that she had not visited them. "We have gone as far as Montego Bay and Old Harbour as we were told that she was seen there, but we didn't find her. We have contacted all our family and friends and they haven't seen her," Hall said.

Hall told THE STAR that because of Francis' disappearance, her elder sister has stopped eating. She said at first the family was coping. But now, 18 weeks later, they are worried sick that something has happened to her.

"We are trying to deal with it. I have been coping well but my older sister is not handling it at all," she said.

When she was last seen, Francis was said to be dressed in a creme-coloured blouse with black stripes, and blue jeans. Family members said the matter was reported to the Spanish Town Police Station, but to date they have not heard anything from the police.

The Spanish Town police have confirmed that Francis was reported missing and that their investigations into her disappearance were continuing.

Meantime, the family is asking anyone who may have seen Francis to contact the Spanish Town Police or her daughter Ann Marie Warburton at 867-0051, 360-6434, or 302-6080 or the nearest police station.
