MoBay woman missing
By ROY SANFORD, Staff Reporter Marcia Lawrence - ContributedWESTERN BUREAU: RELATIVES OF MARCIA Lawrence, originally from Rose Heights in Montego Bay, are baffled and searching for answers after they have not heard from her for over a month. They fear something terrible might have happened to her. Lawrence, otherwise known as 'Terry,' moved to Kingston more than 12 years ago to live with her boyfriend. According to Mrs. Barrett the mystery surrounding her daughter began unraveling around mid-August after she returned to Rose Heights from a trip to Kingston. "About a week after I came back my daughter called me to say she not up at her yard because her boyfriend was ill treating her and she left," she said. "I asked her if everything was O.K. and she said yes. She said she would call back but up to now, we have not heard anything." She said repeated calls to Ms. Lawrence's cellular phone have proven futile. Mrs. Barrett said around the end of August, Ms. Lawrence's boyfriend called her and said that Ms. Lawrence had left the house to buy hair and had not returned. "After the boyfriend called me I could not get back in contact with him since his cell phone stopped working," she said. Meanwhile Ms. Lawrence's sister Kameika Barrett said that it is unusual for her sister to go long periods of time without calling. "I am very worried," she said. The family is appealing for the public for assistance in locating their love one. Anyone who has information can called Kameika Barrett at 453-6725.
