Captain of the Jamaica Senior Netball team, Oberon Pitterson, looks on. - Carlington WilmotCable & Wireless donates $1million to the Jamaica Netball Association THE JAMAICA NETBALL ASSOCIATION (JNA) received a donation of $1-million from its perennial sponsor Cable & Wireless Jamaica yesterday. The money will go towards financing the senior national netball team's participation in the upcoming Caribbean Netball Championships which will be held later this month in Trinidad and Tobago. C&W's cheque was handed over by the company's Head of Corporate Communications, Errol Miller, who said that his company was extremely pleased to be able to continue as the major sponsor of the JNA. He wished the team all the best in the upcoming championships and made an appeal for support from other corporate entities as the JNA was still short of the amount required to finance the team's trip to the Caribbean Championships. JNA president Sharon Donaldson, who received the cheque on behalf of the association, thanked Cable & Wireless for its unswerving support of the national netball programme noting that the company had "adopted" the association since 1998. She promised that the team would give their all in defence of their title as, once again, the Sunshine Girls were determined to make Jamaica proud.
