A state of disorder

THE STATE OF the 'One Order' gang - or organisation, as they would rather prefer to be called - at present is a classic case of divide and rule, if only by design, then by accident.

And it is, in the long run, all the better for this nation.

As THE WEEKEND STAR reports today, the One Order Gang is in a state that is totally contrary to their name, in the aftermath of their alleged leader's murder.

The rumours, apparently, are rife within the organisation that the execution was internally set up. In addition, as THE WEEKEND STAR reports today, there were already suspicions by 'foundation members' that new recruits were not as loyal as those who were there from a long time ago.

As one longstanding 'One Order' man said, some of the new persons have too much 'police fren''.

Which brings us to the matter of divide and rule. If new recruits to the 'One Order' were suspected by older members, would it not stand to reason that the police could have planted an informer and brought the gang to heel some time ago? The state of disorder in the gang need not have awaited until the killing of its alleged leader and then suspicions and finger pointing starting within the ranks of the gang.

As criminal gangs get increasingly more sophisticated, the police will have to adjust their tactics and strategies if they are serious about breaking the hold that the lawless have on the society. Sowing a state of disorder in the criminal ranks is a perfectly legitimate police strategy and should be pursued, not waited on to just happen.
