My married lover won't get divorced

Dear Pastor,

I have been dating a guy since January 2004. The problem that I have is that I heard he is married. He said he is applying for a divorce.

However, every time I ask him for the document to prove he is applying for a divorce, he changes the subject. I have tried to dump him but my feelings for him have got the better of me. Please advise me on what I ought to do.

This man may be giving you a basket to carry water. But you are not going to do anything about the relationship with him until you have come to realize that he is lying to you and using you for sexual gratification.

When you are tired of being used, you will ask him to go. By that time, it might be even more difficult because you might be carrying his baby.
