Chuck Fender has no jitters on the job

FOR SOME ARTISTES, the act of going on stage to perform is an instant blood rush.

Hearts pound and heads swell in anticipation of the crowd's reaction to them. Although it may not be obvious to the crowd, some artistes get quite jittery before going on stage. Well Chuck Fender isn't one of those persons.

"We don't do anything extra before going on stage," he declares confidently. "Yu see from we a do Jah's work, no form of nervousness can set in. We don't do anything out of the ordinary. We just rehearse with the bands from before and meditate and pray before the show."

This, he said, has given him the confidence to tackle just about the hardest crowd. The best example of this was at the Magnum STING stage show in December where dozens of acts were chased from the stage from an intolerant audience.

"We can't fear when we go to a show cause is Jah's message we a send. Yu just pray that dem will receive the message and just do it."
