By PAUL A. REID, Staff Reporterwestern Bureau: HEAVY RAIN IN Westmoreland on Sunday forced the Western Confederation to set new dates for the two-way finals of the Fred Smith Super League competition between Orange Hill and Wadadah.
Orange Hill, the former Westmoreland Division One champions, were scheduled to host the first leg on Sunday at Frome, but the game had to be called off and has been rescheduled for Wednesday with Wadadah hosting Sunday's return leg at Jarrett Park.
The winners of the Western Super League will join KSAFA Super League winners Santos, Arlington FC, the champions of the South central Confederation and the winners of the Eastern Confederation, in the play-offs to decide the two teams that will replace Seba United and Star Cosmos in the National Premier League.
Penalty kicks
Orange Hill qualified for the finals after beating Mt Salem of St Jameson on penalty kicks at Jarrett Park last week.
Mt Salem had won Tuesday's return leg semi-final 2-1 to tie up the scores 3-3 on aggregate after Orange Hill had won the first leg by a similar margin the previous weekend.
Neither team managed to score in the two overtime periods and the Westmoreland team prevailed in the shootout.
Wadadah had beaten another St James team, Tomorrow's People, 2-1 on aggregate in their two-way series to advance to the finals.
