COPS RAID SEX CLUB

By ANDREA DOWNER, Staff Reporter

'LAS GIDDY', A nightclub on Port Henderson Road in Portmore, St.Catherine, which offered live sex on-stage and nude dancing girls, was closed by police early on Saturday morning and the proprietor arrested.

The proprietor, Errol 'Blacks' Morrison, 27, was slapped with two charges and two under-age girls, who worked as go-go dancers at the club, were placed in protective custody.

The Bridgeport police swooped down on the club in the wee hours of Saturday while one of the teenage girls, who is 16, was on a stage dancing in a pair of thong panties.

The police said they had been monitoring the club closely for the past two weeks, when a 15-year-old girl who worked there visited the station and complained that Morrison had confiscated her clothing. She reported that Morrison claimed she owed him money for a costume he purchased for her to dance in and for a cell phone she allegedly destroyed.

Without a license

The police told THE STAR that Morrison had been operating the club without a license since October last year and they had also received reports that a number of teenage girls were employed as go-go dancers.

Morrison is charged with operating a night club without a license and employing minors.

The other teenager, who is 15, was not picked up when the police raided the club, as she was not dancing at the time, but was later taken to the station by a police officer who saw her loitering on the Port Henderson strip at about 8 on Saturday morning.

The girl could not give the officer a reason why she was sitting on a chair at the roadside, approximately six hours after they locked down the club and ordered everyone, including about 12 patrons, mostly males, home.

She was taken to the Bridgeport Police Station and her mother summoned, after which she and the other girl were taken to a place of safety.

THE STAR was told that this would be the third time in two years that the 15-year-old would be placed in state care. She fled a girls' home twice before.

Both girls are to appear in Juvenile Court in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, sometime this week. Morrison will also appear in the Spanish Town RM Court this week.
