By YOLANDE GYLES, Staff ReporterAT LEAST FIVE women have been abducted and raped in four days by a gang of armed rapists operating in St. Andrew and Kingston, police tell THE STAR.
Between April 29 and May 2, the police reveal, two women were abducted from Eastwood Park Road near Dumbarton Avenue, and one each from West Avenue off Constant Spring Road, Whitehall Avenue, and West Kingston. From those points the women were reportedly taken to locations along 100 Lane off Red Hills Road and in Wilton Gardens (Rema) where they were sexually assaulted.
Inspector Dutress Foster-Gardener of the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences (CISO), tells THE STAR that the gang of gun-toting men drive around in a white Toyota Corolla motor car and abduct their unsuspecting victims while they are going about their business. "They use white T-shirts to cover their faces and they rape the women vaginally and anally and force the women to perform oral sex on them," she said.
When they are done, the inspector tells THE STAR, the women are released randomly across the city. She said the victims are unceremoniously pushed from the moving vehicle.
The inspector emphasised that age is not a factor in how these rapists choose their victims, but said that the offences occurred between 12 midnight and 7 p.m.
She said that the police believe that there may be other victims and if there are; "We are asking them to please come and report it to the police," she said.
The police are also requesting that women be careful while they go about their business across the city.
