Same traits, different personalities
Kerice and Terrence Jones - ContributedKERICE AND TERRENCE Jones come from a long line of twins. "The last time we counted there were 17 pairs of twins in the family," Kerice told THE WEEKEND STAR. "It is probably more now, because we have not all got together in so long." Despite having so many twins in the family, the two 28-year-olds admit that they picked up very little by way of inter-familial relationships. "Growing up we fought every day. Even now, we still fight, just not physically as back then," said Terrence. Kerice explained that their fights came about because they have similar personality traits but very different ways of doing things. "We are both very stubborn and we both like to have our own way. But I am more confrontational while he will try to sweep things under the carpet," she said. However, she said, when Terrence gets upset, he is not the best person to be around. "It takes him a while to get upset, but once he does, it is going to be a sight."
Genuine love
Terrence agreed. "Unlike her, my fuse takes a long time to ignite, but once you get me going - that's it," he said. They told a story of him getting very upset. "I cannot remember what the fight started out about, but all I remember was him coming at me with a spray can and something was sprayed in my face. I passed out," Kerice recalled. When she came to, she found out that Terrence had sprayed her with a household insecticide. "It was Baygon or something," Kerice said. Terrence was quick to point out that they were 10 years old at that time and that his sister "Was behaving like a cockroach." The twins say that every time they were spanked as children was because they were fighting. "Mommy swore she would beat it out of us," Terrence said. As they grew older, physical fights gave way to verbal skirmishes. However, both say they have never gone to bed mad at each other. "We always work it out or scream it out. And after we both say what we need to say and it is finished." Despite the fights, they still share a very strong bond. "Despite our numerous issues there is genuine love between us," said Kerice. Kerice and Terrence were born in Nassau, Bahamas, to Jamaican parents Mildred and Raymon Jones. "We came to Jamaica at age two when Daddy set up a farm in Westmoreland," Terrence told THE WEEKEND STAR. They both attended a private high school in St. Catherine and boarded with their aunt in Spanish Town. They are now both students at university in Washington D.C. where Terrence is studying computer technology and Kerice is pursuing a degree in business.
