Life's a beach

Dear Pastor,

I am confused about my relationship. I have been through thick and thin with this man. He is from Antigua and I am from Jamaica. He is having a problem. When he went home the other day, the immigration officials stopped him and locked him up for a week. Now he has to go to court. He is also afraid that they are going to send him back home. As a result, he broke up with me despite the fact that I have stood by him for all these years.

He is married, but he has been separated from his wife for about seven years. I had been telling him to get a divorce but he didn't. Anyway, he works out of town and so he called me and told me that the relationship between us is over. However, he still acts as if we are together. The only thing is that now he calls me friend instead of baby. He still calls me and if I don't answer he gets upset. When I remind him that we are not together anymore, he says nothing.

Please tell me what to do because he is coming back to town soon and I am so confused. Initials Withheld By Request., Orlando, Florida

Dear ..,

I do not know why this man has to go to court, but I am sure that the Immigration Department has charged him for something that he probably does not want you to know about. Anyway, he has told you that the relationship between the both of you has come to an end. Therefore, whenever he calls you, you should remind him that both of you are no longer lovers.

If he wanted to divorce his wife and marry you, he would have done that a long time ago. So don't allow him to continue to fool you. Please do not use your money to get him out of trouble.

Pastor
