THIEVES BROKE INTO deejay Mad Cobra's Portmore home recently, and took off with valuables worth thousands of dollars.
The deejay, who was in Canada for the past two weeks, reportedly lost several items of clothing, and a portion of valuable electrical items, some of which relate to his work.
According to the deejay, the total loss he suffered has been significant. "Mi lose clothes, my hat collection, clothes I use for the stage, colognes, my DVD player, compact discs, a printer, my 17 inch flat screen monitor and the hard drive to the computer with all my tunes," he told THE STAR.
While these goods can be replaced, Cobra added, the material he has on the hard drive to his computer is almost priceless, as it stores unrecorded songs and lyrics to over 100 new songs he has composed.
"The other things I have no problem with losing, but the hard drive has all my tunes. Dem can keep the rest of the things, but the hard drive have over 150 tunes with the lyrics and all of them are new, not even recorded yet," he emphasized. "That was my catalogue of songs, and it is very important to my work."
Mad Cobra noted that he was more interested in getting the hard drive back more than anything else, despite the cost of the other valuables. He added that finding out who stole from him was not even important, he just wanted to appeal to them.
"I don't even want to know it's who, cause circumstances make people do certain things sometimes, and the country in a certain state. Mi just need the hard drive, the oblong shaped thing cause it important to me.
"Mi a ask them. If they can find a way to leave the hard drive somewhere, at a post office or somewhere, it doesn't matter. It is very important for my work, and I don't think the person who stole it realise how important it is to me yet. Just find somewhere to leave it."
