Ce'Cile shoots new video

CECILE AND AN army of female footballers invaded the Tivoli Gardens Playfield on Monday, putting 'losers' in their place for her latest music video.

The music video is for the tune Loser, her combination with Lady Saw on the 'Thriller' rhythm. The video's director is MTV's Jason 'Jay Will' Williams, but he had the assistance of director Ras Kassa.

Although Lady Saw's scene was not shot on Monday, the crew had a full day of shooting scenes, which included a local female media celebrity team against an invitational male football team.

The storyline of the video sees Ce'Cile and Lady Saw as leaders of the female football team, which takes on an all- male football team in a game. CeCile stays on the sidelines barking out orders as her team thrashes the men turning them into 'losers'.

Mixed into this are some steamy dance moves on the sidelines by two different teams of female dancers dressed in shorts which would make Britney Spears blush. The referee, played by Christopher Daley, gets constantly distracted by these gyrating women, and even finds himself dancing with them as the game goes on.

Director Jason 'Jay Will' Williams was quite relaxed as he worked on the set. It was not his first dancehall video. His other music video credits include KC Jockey's Street Flossing, Carl Henry's Bare As You Dare with Ce Cile, and Homie's Girl by Carl Henry. He told THE STAR that shooting dancehall music videos in the United States is quite different from in Jamaica.

"Here, the difference is that everything for dancehall is authentic," he stated. "For the dancehall scenes all the energy and attitude is geunuine, whereas in the U.S. if we were shooting a dancehall video we would have to re-create the atmosphere and acting etc. Talent wise, everything here is original and genuine."

The 'authentic' attitude he meant was clearly displayed when he asked a woman standing nearby to make up some numbers on the set.

"Right ya now me a bleach my face, so me caa afford fi stand up inna no hot sun!" she replied, leaving everyone in stitches.
