SCORES OF RESIDENTS of Ellen Street and adjoining districts in Manchester descended on an unfinished house in the community to view the dead body of one of their senior citizens - found holding his condom-sheathed penis in his hand.
The man, who has been identified as 68-year-old William 'Polo' Miller, was said to be discovered at about 7 a.m. in a stooping position with his head against a wall, and one of his legs elevated. His pants and underpants were at his thigh. He was holding on to his penis with one hand.
Anger and amusement
Polo, who lived with his common-law wife, was said to be in a longstanding relationship with someone else. He was last seen alive at about 9 p.m. Thursday night, April 15.
Excited onlookers displayed several emotions, from tears to anger and amusement. One woman said 'Him spend nine months in the womb and the rest a him life him a try fi go back in'.
Polo was described as a well-loved ,jovial and kind person.
The body was removed by the Newport police to the Lynn's Funeral Parlour for a post-mortem. A police spokesman told THE STAR the investigation was wide open.
