Not fit for air play

The Editor, Madam:

Here in Jamaica I hear talk about values and attitudes and crime prevention.

Then I look on what they allow to be shown on the two local television stations; demoralising music videos and these movies involving sex and gun violence. If we are willing to sell out the media to these immoral acts then I think we are also willing to live with the consequences. I was watching local NYPD Blue the other night and I saw a woman kissing a detective and then she went down to his lower region with her head.

I am sure she wasn't reaching to tie his shoe lace. Also these music video programmes with these 9/10 naked girls are doing nothing positive for our young teenage minds here in jamaica. What about "Not fit for airplay"? Is this not promoted anymore? The government and the media have to decide if ratings are more important than real values.

I am etc.,
