THE EDITOR, Madam:
I am writing in response to a letter written in The Daily Gleaner by Lorelie Kraft on the 29.3.04. There are some facts that I would like to draw the attention of the writer and readers to:
(1) God is all wise, he knows everything.
(2) The past, present and future are the same to him, he knows the end from the beginning.
(3) What was wrong five or ten thousand years ago is still wrong today and will always be wrong.
(4) All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine for reproof, for correction for instruction in righteousness. II Timothy 3:16. Therefore the Old Testament is not contradicting the New Testament nor the other way around.
(5) When Jesus was here upon earth the New Testament was not written as yet, and was not written until many years after he went back to heaven.
(6) Jesus quoted from the Old Testament extensively before his crucifixion and even after his resurrection and this is found in Luke 24:13-3.
(7) All mankind who has ever lived on earth has sinned with the exception of Jesus Christ. He was the sinless one.
(8) Since we have all sinned we all need a Saviour and Jesus is the only Saviour.
(9) It does not matter the type of sin we have committed, adultery, fornication, stealing, murder, homosexuality etc. We all have to repent of these and all other sins if we want to be saved.
(10) In most cultures, being a homosexual you are treated as the worst criminal, but in the eyes of God all sin is sin with the exception of blasphemy against the Holy Ghost Matt 12:31.
(11) Therefore the homosexual, if the one committing the sin repent and forsake his sin can be saved like the thief or murderer.
(12) God did not make any individual with any gene to do any wrong so the homosexual was not born like that, neither was a thief born to steal.
(13) God made us as free agents to choose between right and wrong. Unfortunately, we made the wrong choice and so he sent Jesus to rescue us from destruction, sad to say even at this later hour many are still rejecting his offer of salvation.
I am, etc.,
