Young girlfriend driving me crazy

DEAR PASTOR,

I am a 30-year-old man living in a well-known community in Downtown Kingston. I love this girl so much. She means the world to me. I would do almost anything for her. She is 18. I have been through thick and thin with her. I have known her for more than a year, and I have loved her from the day I met her.

But she just doesn't get it that I love her. I have told her over and over how much I do, and I have shown her too. I could share anything with her, my entire background. When I was ill she stood by me all the way. Now she wants to give all that up. She told me she wants to end the relationship, and I have never once cheated on her. I asked her what I have done to be getting this treatment. She says that I don't really love her, and that I don't spend enough time with her. So she wants to put a stop to our relationship.

Pregnant

She told me that she has found someone new, someone who loves her and who has time for her. I have an idea who she may be seeing because friends have told me how they have seen my girl with this other guy. I have asked her if it is someone I know, but she says I do not know the person. She said it has been 10 months that they have been together.

I am still trusting that she will come back to me because I know her too well. She says she is pregnant for him and it drives me crazy to know that it is not my child she is carrying. All I can do is just sit outside in my community and watch every day go by without her by my side. My friends ask me if I am going crazy. I want no one but her in my life. She is the only one I have ever loved. Being at this age it must seem ridiculous.

O.M., Kingston

Dear O.M.,

I suggest that you accept the fact that this girl is not interested in you. She has informed you that she has another man and she is pregnant. Leave her alone. Wish her well. You live in the inner city. You know how a man can get himself into trouble over a woman. Don't do anything stupid.

You may be setting up yourself to either get a good beating or even something worse. You have my best wishes. You will find another girl. Move on with your life, my friend.
