Repair Lexington pedestrian crossing

THE EDITOR, Madam

The pedestrian crossing on Lexington Avenue in Vineyard Town has been in a deplorable state for quite sometime now. There are also huge potholes on Lexington Avenue.

I think that the Ministry of Education should make it their business before schools reopen every September to ensure that pedestrian crossings close to all schools are in a good condition.

Oakdene and Ashbury Avenues in Vineyard Town are also in a deplorable state. Those roads are not fit for ordinary vehicles.

Sometime ago the government promised that all roadways used by J.U.T.C buses would get preferential treatment. So why is it that Lexington Avenue has been in such a deplorable state for so long? The number 88 bus runs on that road everyday.

I am, etc.,

HUGH ANDERSON BLAIR
