Listen to folks

Dear Pastor,

In the summer of 2002 I met this guy. He is so sweet. He is five years older than I. I am now 18. My relatives do not like him because he used to sell drugs. He has since stopped and is going to school. I am in America and he is in Jamaica. I ask him every day not to cheat on me with anyone else that can harm me. You know what I mean. We plan to live together, What should I do?

S.W., Maryland, U.S.A.

Dear S.W.,

Please listen to your parents and others. They love you, and they want the best for you. Do not ignore what your relatives say about this man. How do you know for sure that he is not dealing with drugs anymore? I am not saying that he is. I understand why your parents and others have concerns.

Pastor.
