By TEINO EVANS, Staff ReporterIT WAS NOT just a social outing for Spragga Benz, when THE STAR recently caught up with the deejay at the Asylum nightclub. Spragga was actually there on business, shooting a scene for a music video medley for Black Shadow.
The song, which is entitled Guns, Girls and Ganja, is part of a medley of songs on a new rhythm called 'Ching Chung'.
In Spragga's scene, he is seen in the club, vibing with some girls while smoking and maintaining his artiste profile. Other artistes in the medley include the likes of Beenie Man, Machel Montano, Elephant Man and Mad Cobra.
Apart from working on this new video, Spragga says he has been working on a number of other projects, including his album.
"For my album still, wi have all di music an ting, but a jus fi work out di distribution channels," he said. The deejay pointed out that it made no sense to drop an album without working out the specifics of how the album was going to be distributed.
Spragga, who also has a remix with Kevin Lyttle, Turn Me On, says they just finished shooting a second video, which is entitled Last Drop. The two artistes have a series of tours lined up, and according to Spragga, the first half of the tour will feature places like Milan, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Rome and Romania. This is slated to kick off some time later this year.
Spragga, who has also been doing some work as a producer, says his "latest project with 'Red Square' is coming along well." He says that they are putting some plans in place for June when they hope to keep their 'regular dance pon di corner' (Red Square).
"Right now di man dem deh pon a beautification campaign inna di area," where members of Red Square have been paving off the place and preparing the area to host a few of their shows and concerts. Until then, Spragga says "wi jus want di people dem know seh wi deh yah same way a gi dem music inna dem soul," he said.
