Papa San

Papa San began his musical career in 1985.

He started to sing and create music at the age of 12.

Artistes such as Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and John Holt, as well as a wide range of American Pop and Rock music artistes further influenced him.

While still in his teens, Papa San enjoyed his first breakthrough hits in the mid '80s, which was the beginning of his international success.

At the pinnacle of his dancehall career, he was one of the few Jamaican artistes to have their music videos frequently shown on MTV. Some of his popular songs included, The Programme, I Will Survive, and Maddy Maddy Cry.
