Dear Pastor,
I cannot even begin to tell you how many problems I have on my hand, but I will share a few with you.
Firstly, I am a backslider and while I was in the church, a young man and I were together. Eventually we broke off, but I miss him so much. He was my all. He influenced me to do well and to hold my head high. But now that we broke up, I have become nothing to myself. Every time I see him I want to tell him how I feel about him, but I don't think he will accept me again. What should I do?
I met another young man. We talked for a year and got engaged, but we broke up last year. All of this is getting to me and I don't know what to do. I am now attending college and my financial status is not so good. I am currently involved though, but the one person I want, God won't allow me to have. I want to go back in the church, but I am afraid of what persons in the church may say. That is hindering me.
I am asking for your sincere advice.
M.C., Kingston
Dear M.C.,
Please go back to your church. The first thing you should do, however, is to talk to God about your problems. You are not just unhappy because the man you loved so very much is no more in your life.
You are also unhappy because you are not walking with God and serving Him and you are faced with financial problems. Sometimes a person may not get what he or she wants. That is a part of life.
Everybody makes mistakes. Do not allow what people would say about you to depress you. Trust in God. Find comfort in the Psalms. Read one everyday. Go back to church.
