Massive support for Stone Love's Weddy Wednesdays

STONE LOVE HAS hopped on to the wave of nightly street dances, with their weekly 'Weddy Wednesdays' dance session.

The session is held every Wednesday at Stone Love's headquarters on Burlington avenue in Kingston, but it does not actually take place on the street. Patrons can just enter their gates and walk right into the session. Stone Love's boss Winston 'Wee Pow' Powell told THE WEEKEND STAR that they launched it six weeks ago.

Judging by Wednesday's session, one can conclude that there is unbelievable support for the free street dances which are held during the week. Familiar faces pop up at several of these dances from Monday to Friday.

On Wednesday night, with Stone Love's cut-off point of midnight looming, patrons rolled in and crammed the premises to its full capacity even at minutes after 11 p.m.

There was hardly space to dance to the arsenal of dubplates mixed with regular tunes unleashed by selectors Richie Feelings, Diamond, and Iceberg. Guest selector Sky Juice, fresh from an England tour gave a few selections as well.

A few other local celebrities fought their way through the thick mass of dancing bodies to ease themselves at the well stocked bar, or to 'hold an area' for themselves. Bogle and his crew cornered one area for themselves, John Hype and his army cornered another area, while LA Lewis and his set held their space.

Jostling to get footage of these dancers were at least three camera crews. They tightly held onto their cameras as the waves of bouncing women and men tossed them to and fro.

The session it seemed was a heated warm up dance to Passa Passa, which usually gets into full gear after 2 a.m.
