Haiti's plight
NO ONE IN the African diaspora can be pleased about what is taking place in Haiti. Some 200 years after freeing themselves of the French noose, and thus making them the first freed colony, they are in turmoil.

I WATCHED FROM afar - figuratively of course - the events is Spanish Town, St. Catherine a few weeks ago, in which at least 12 people were killed and there were instances of what amounted to open warfare between rival gangs.
