On behalf of Una James
THE EDITOR, Madam: It is extremely unfortunate the fate that has befallen Lee Boyd Malvo and his mother Miss Una James. As I watched the story unfold I constantly thought of the many Jamaican mothers who have left home to seek their fortune abroad.
Students, no more excuses
THE EDITOR, Madam: I read with a mixture of interest and amusement the announcement from the Jamaica Council of Students with a membership of 150,000.
Keep STING alive
THE EDITOR, Madam: The STING promoters, if they follow through with their decision to scrap this very popular annual event, would be sending the wrong message to the reggae music industry and the public.
Make the music stronger
THE EDITOR, Madam: When are the people in Jamaica going to learn that they are doing themselves a grave injustice? It is hard enough to get the backing of mainstream promoters to bring reggae music to the forefront of the entertainment business.
Thank you Mayor Crooks
THE EDITOR, Madam: Please allow me space to publicly thank the Mayor of Lucea, Mr. Lester C. Crooks and his family for allowing the people of Clifton and Mt. Peace to use their land as a playfield and sports complex.
