Have you seen her?

Sonia McKoy - Contributed

THE LAST TIME relatives of Sornia McKoy saw or heard from her was at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Now they are worried about her whereabouts.

Her uncle, Lawton Douglas said that McKoy, a 14-year-old student of the Meadowbrook High School in St. Andrew bade him goodbye from their Bridgeport, Portmore, St. Catherine home and left for school.

Douglas explained that McKoy would normally get home by 6:30 p.m., but when they did not see her after 7:00 p.m., they became very worried. "I called her cellular phone and it was turned off," he told THE STAR.

Being overcome with worry for his niece's safety, he reported the matter to the near-by Bridgeport Police station. "They took a preliminary report, but they told me to come back and make an official one if she did not turn up by midday on Wednesday," Douglas said. And that he did.

The last confirmed sighting of McKoy was at about 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. She was standing at a bus stop near the Price Rite supermarket in Red Hills, St. Andrew.

Douglas went to Meadowbrook High who confirmed that McKoy, a third form student was at school on Tuesday, but she has not returned since. "The whole thing has me very worried. I don't know where she is or what could have possibly happened to her," Douglas said.

He is pleading for McKoy to either "come home or make contact."

McKoy is of light complexion and slim built, has a scar on the lower left side of her cheek. She was last seen wearing her Meadowbrook school uniform which consists of a white blouse, blue and green plaid tunic and black shoes.

Anybody who has seen or knows of McKoy's whereabouts is being asked to contact Douglas at 431-9794 or the Bridgeport Police station at 988-2697.
