FORMER JAMAICA UNDER 20 forward, Nicholas Addlery, hit the winner as Starworld Strikers clipped leaders San Juan Jabloteh 2-1 in Trinidad and Tobago's Professional Football League (PFL) at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium on Sunday.
Jabloteh took a 44th minute lead through Devon Mitchell, but Starworld Strikers drew level a minute later on a Wesley Webb goal. Addlery who has been making waves in the PFL got the winner in the 60th minute.
In another game Randy Jerome celebrated his call up to Guyana trials with two goals that gave North East Stars a 2-2 draw with Caledonia AIA.
And while the third-placed North East Stars were sharing points at the Sangre Grande Recreation Ground W-Connection moved within nine points - with a game in hand of Jabloteh when they got past Arima Fire.
Jerome lifted his scoring tally this season to 22 when he notched goals in the 13th and 35th minutes, but North East Stars surrendered their lead when Caledonia AIA picked up goals from Nigel Hart (64th) and Vandamir Henderson (86th).
W-Connection, with two games against Jabloteh left in their schedule, climbed to 72 points and improved their outside chance at the title when they defeated Arima Fire 2-0 on goals by Kendal Davis and an Arima Fire defenders' own goal.
In other games, Defence Force defeated Tobago United 4-0, and Joe Public outscored South West Institute of Football (SWIF) 4-2.
