WHEN IT COMES to dances, Gerald 'Bogle' Levy is one of the most decorated dancers in Jamaica.

A series on dance moves could never be complete without speaking to the man himself.

THE STAR recently spoke with the dancer about his latest dance called 'Back to Basic' that is dominating the dancehall scene and defining the way Jamaicans dance.

When THE STAR visited Bogle it was just before Christmas and he was in high spirits. "The next word to merry is jiggy and mi want the people dem fi have a jiggy Christmas," he said.

"When I was a little bwoy, and I go dance, is man and woman use to rub-a-dub, the women dem a complain sey the man dem a elbow dem, and nah dance wid dem, di ladies want di men to get jiggy wid dem," he continued in explaining the basis for his new dance.

Bogle says he came up with the Back To Basic after seeing; "the man dem a fan wey di girls dem, box down the girls dem, pick up rubbish pan, chop off dem head and a pop it off. The only time I lift up my finger to the sky was when I did Bogle and that was to father God."

A member of Bogle's dancing group 'Jiggy Girls', Angella Richards, told THE STAR; "Back To Basic is like a back in the day skank, but with today's influence, with more charisma, and it give you a 'Body Basic' feeling." Laughing Bogle said; "Dancing is yuh whole body, now is just hand or yuh foot when yuh go dance, di people dem need to go back to basic."
