THE EDITOR, Madam:
I WAS A patron at 'Sting 2003'. What took place was long coming. The promoters are to take the blame. The line-up had many inferior artistes, hence drawing out the show for too long. The line-up was not properly arranged, artistes being called on-stage and were not available.
Artistes were going to the stage at the wrong time of the show, and getting bottles thrown at them, DYCR & Frankie Paul two of many such. How can we be throwing bottles at a blind man? The most hurtful thing to me about it was that the person who came to his rescue was smiling.
Over the years bottles have become one of the main ingredients at Sting. The promoter is an investigator, he should use his intelligence to alter this act.
The Vybz Kartel & Ninja Man movie scene could have been avoided by the promoters. Ninja shouldn't have been allowed on to the stage at the time he came on. I saw him in an interview saying that he would be closing the show. When he entered the stage there were other artistes backstage still to work. The longer Sting shows go on the more persons are seen present on the stage, this is a yearly thing
If Kartel & Ninja were alone on the stage there would not have been a fight.
Promoters, you are now saying there wasn't suppose to be a clash at the event and you were saying before the event you would want to see a clash with Ninja and anybody.
I am, etc.,
