Tomorrow's People, Mt Salem in big clash out west

By PAUL A. REID, Staff Reporter

WESTERN BUREAU: LEADERS TOMORROW'S PEOPLE and Mt Salem, both of St James, will meet at Jarrett Park tomorrow afternoon in the Fred Smith Western Confederation Super League, starting at 3:00.

One point separates the teams who are hoping to advance to the mid-season finals next month.

Tomorrow's People who beat another St James team Altobar 2-0 at Bickersteth on Saturday leads with 17 points from seven matches while Mt Salem is on 16 from the same number of games.

Edging second

Mt Salem will be seeking their sixth straight win after edging second to last placed Studs at the Elliston Wakeland Centre on Saturday.

Third place Granville - 11 points will play away to sixth placed Bamboo - six points while Orange Hill who had their three games unbeaten run stopped by Granville on Saturday will try to start a new win streak when they host Harmony in Westmoreland.

Flames will host Altobar at Georgia in Trelawny, Petersfield and Russia will meet in a Westmoreland derby while Wadadah will be seeking only their third win in eight starts when they host Studs at the UDC field.

Earlier in the St. James FA's Mt Salem United got the New Year off with a bang by winning the St James FA Alwill Construction KO title last Thursday.

They beat Altobar 2-0 in the final played at the UDC play-field in Montego Bay and will represent the parish in the JFF Jamaica National Building Society's Federation Cup KO later this year.

Mt Salem will join Seba United as the teams from the parish taking part in the national JNBS KO.

Bobby Little in the 29th and Keeno Williams in the 42nd were the scorers for the Mt Salem team that had beaten Montego bay Cricket Club 4-0 in the semi-finals.
