DEAR PASTOR,
I write regarding your response to a letter from a lady titled: "Available vessel waiting to be used". It was published on December 4, 2003. I must say I am ecstatic that I found another Jamaican lady, in addition to myself, who is so full of self-hope and self-help.
Most of the women whom I see writing to you, write about sex, boyfriends etc. However, this woman really had something to say. I must say that her words have encouraged me. The only thing that I did not like about what she said is that she can't get a job as an engineer because she is a lady. Regardless of what others say, never, never put yourself down because you are a lady.
Never limit yourself. You are a Christian woman, and God would not have let you gone through those classes for no reason. Even if you don't get hired, your other talents may provide money for you to open up your own engineering business. Never give up.
I am a 22-year-old Jamaican woman. I have two business licenses. I have been told by nearly every member of my family that I won't make it, but I refuse to listen. As long as there is breath in my body, I won't give up. Neither should you. God bless you, woman. You are now my new hero! You are honestly an inspiration to other Jamaican women out there who want to become somebody, but don't have the ambition or know where to start. I will pray for you.
Thank you.
O.G., U.S.A.
Dear O.G.,
Thanks for your encouraging words to this woman.
